Reset slicers with a single click
Sometimes we might have many slicers on a single page. We use these slicers to filter through the data but we want to unselect these slicers we have to unselect them one at a time. The consumes too much time and if we have a big page it’s really hard to reset them.
Today I will teach you how we can reset a slicer with a single click with a page reset bookmark.
Step 1: Unselect all the Slicers on the page.
Step 2: Go to the view option and then press on bookmark. See direction on the image below.
Step 3: Now click on add to create a new bookmark. A new bookmark is created with a name. In my case it is “bookmark 1". I will rename it to “Page Reset Bookmark” so it will be easy to find. You can also rename your bookmark by simply double-clicking on it or pressing the three dots on the left side and using rename option.
Step 4: Make sure the data option is checked on the bookmark. You can also see this option on the three dots. When the data option is checked it saves the page information where the bookmark is created until it is updated.
Step 5: Import any image or create your own buttons to use this bookmark. In my case, I am creating my on button named “reset”. If you are new to power bi follow the image below to create a button.
Step 6: Once you make your button, click on “Action”. Select type to “Bookmark” and on bookmark select the “bookmark” you just made.
Now you are all set. Your page reset bookmark is set. Select any value in the slicers and (Ctrl + click) the reset button. Boom, all your slicers are unselected.
Watch the video below to see how this works.
